Upcoming Psychosomatic Medicine Re-Certification Exam

The board re-certification examination for Psychosomatic Medicine is in 2015. Those of us who certified at the first exam ever in 2005 for this “supraspecialty” will be faced with the decision to either apply for the exam, which means being able to produce on demand (in case of an audit) the documentation of Performance in Practice (PIP) modules and other qualifying data–or drop certification. The Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine (APM) stands ready to support members by continuing to provide outstanding continuing education at their absolutely stellar annual meetings, always held in November in stunningly beautiful and relaxing resort-style hotels in the sunnier parts of the country.

The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) maintains a very informative web site on Maintenance of Certification (MOC) at http://www.abpn.com/. You can also find out about MOC and PIP on my blog site, although you’ll get a heavy dose of my opinion about the matter as well.
