Coming of Age

Megan, who triumphs over OCD, shares a poem “Keeping Memories” on her blog, The War in My Brain, Keeping Memories | The War in My Brain. It’s right on time for Mental Health Month, May 2013.

It’s a great, lyrical coming of age work. It’s about the stages that matter so much in life. Maybe the most important point is that they don’t always progress in a straight line.

In many ways, maybe each one of us can stay young and avoid becoming the “hardened old soul” she sees.

Parents and teachers can learn from Megan’s reflection.  She reminds us why it’s important to remember this passage, this coming of age.
