Hold On: Health Insurance Marketplace Coming

This is just a heads up  about the website https://www.healthcare.gov/.

I’ve been trying to learn more about the Health Insurance Marketplace because it’s relevant to my practice as a psychiatrist in Iowa. Many patients I see have IowaCare, which is going away. Those who had it will need to enroll in the insurance exchange. It will be important for everyone to learn about how to navigate the marketplace and that is why there are navigators.

So far it looks like Iowa will be ready to go by October 1, 2013–whether anyone likes it or not. The Affordable Care Act is the law, and Iowa is gearing it up for it despite the talk in Washington about defunding ObamaCare.

You  can find this link, Find Local Help | HealthCare.gov on the site for local help information in your state. It looks like it’s frequently updated so it’s a good idea to check back regularly. Click on the “Individuals & Families” bar under the header on the home page; it looks like a good place to start.

Hold on; ObamaCare is coming.
