Iowa Board of Medicine Telephone Conference Again: Be There with Bells On!

As you may have already noticed, my rescheduled telephone conference with the Iowa Board of Medicine (IBM) regarding my support of lifelong learning and opposition to Maintenance of Licensure (MOL) is rescheduled for the fourth time to October 25, 2013 at 10:30 AM. I’ve made minor edits to my elevator pitch to emphasize my opinion that if MOL is adopted in Iowa, it might very well be a disincentive to recruiting physicians to practice in the state.

This time I’ll be talking with the Licensure Committee, which has greater familiarity with the MOL issue. The Licensure Committee would then provide a report to the full board during the public session in which a brief summary of our telephone conference would be included.

Once again, I’ll be on duty as psychiatric consultant to the general hospital. Mornings tend to be busier than afternoons, so it’s anyone’s guess whether I’ll be able to break away, but I’ll try. If it doesn’t happen, they assure me they’ll reschedule for December. Christmas is coming, I hope this time we’re in tune with each other and the timing is right.

So I’ll try to be there at my desk when the phone rings–otherwise I’ll have to wait until the holiday bells ring.
