9th Annual European Delirium Association Congress in November 2014 in Cremona, Italy!

Luisella MagnaniI was very pleased to get a reminder from Dr. Luisella Magnani about the upcoming 9th Annual European Delirium Association Congress November 6-7, 2014 in Cremona, Italy. Featured lecturers include Harvard’s Dr. James Rudolph, MD, who does research on delirium in geriatric patients and is also a member of the American Delirium Society Board of Directors.

Dr. Magnani has gotten the attention of researchers with the Vanderbilt Delirium Group, ICU Delirium and Cognitive Impairment Study Group. She always dedicates her work to her nephew, Giampaolo, who died as an infant of cancer and who suffered from delirium. She is Professor at the College of science of Linguistic Mediation of Varese, disciplines General Linguistics; Researcher at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan, and Professor of Aesthetics at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Brescia. She also teaches seminars monthly on delirium in preverbal children with cancer at the Pediatric Hospital.

She regularly sends me updates on her work in pediatric delirium, more about which you can view on her website.

Dr. Magnani let me know that one of her abstracts has been accepted for the conference in Cremona. She’s to present her Poster Presentation, and she’s graciously agreed to send it along to me to post on my blog in November.

November is a busy month for Dr. Magnani.

She’ll also be in Padova (Italian for Padua, in Italy) the following week, for the Congress on the Urgent Education in Paediatric Intensive Care Unit to deliver two oral presentations. And after that she’ll be in Rome for the Second European Congress on Paediatric Palliative Care, where she’ll give yet another oral presentation on her research in pediatric delirium.

I have also learned that Cremona has the Violin Museum of Stradivari.
