Psychosomatic Medicine Interest Group First Meeting!

Remember that Psychosomatic Medicine Interest Group (PMIG) I mentioned in a post one day during the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine (APM) Annual Meeting 2015 in New Orleans?

Well, we had our first meeting today and it was a big success. I had a lot of fun. And there was plenty of pizza, the Core Competency variety and the real McCoy.

Although I can’t show you the actual case discussion, I can show you something similar using a past Clinical Problems in Consultation Psychiatry (CPCP) presentation by a very sharp medical student, Keenan Laraway. The case had already been previously published in a journal. I thought it would be nice to toss in some questions to the group as well.

Many residents and several faculty signed up as members. We’ll meet once a month–as long as the food holds out.

I’m considering this an early Christmas present…to me. Excellent gig 🙂
